Dorish Maru students Jan 2017 150The SVD AUS Province is reviewing its formation program to ensure that it is continuing to respond to the needs of the Church and Mission.

Formation of missionaries is a key priority for the Province, through its Dorish Maru College in Box Hill, Victoria, which is, at the moment, full to capacity with students from around the world.

Edward-and-Clement-on-arrival-in-Oz---150The academic year is getting underway at the SVD formation house, Dorish Maru College, in Melbourne, with five new young missionaries from Vietnam, Ghana and Mexico joining the multicultural student mix as they take up language and theological studies.

Dorish Maru College is home to students from various countries who have come to the AUS Province to complete their formation and education as Divine Word Missionaries.

Qld-District-Assembly-group---150SVD missionaries ministering in places as far-flung as rural Central Queensland, suburban Brisbane and fast-growing Logan City, gathered together recently for a Queensland District Assembly.

The Assembly, which was held at the same time as the official Provincial Visitation, was a time for the confreres to get together for support, fellowship and ongoing formation.

Ordinations-Oct-2015---150Five young Divine Word Missionaries, who have undertaken their formation in the AUS Province, were ordained for the priesthood or diaconate recently, and are now preparing to be sent out on their first mission assignments.

Marianus Supardi and Uili Uvea were ordained as priests, during the Mass at St Paschal’s Chapel, Box Hill, while Michael Wu Pengfei, Anthony Li and Laurensius Woda were ordained as deacons.
