Divine Word at Marsfield F rom those humble and difficult beginnings, the SVD Australian Province has grown and developed from a membership of two, to more than 80 members today. This led to more involvement in the Church and communities in Australia which, in turn, led to increased participation in various ministries. To accommodate the increase in membership a larger and more workable space was required, hence the property at 199 Epping Road was purchased in 1965. This property is now the site of a retirement home for senior and aging confreres, a confreres' residence, the Arnold Janssen Chapel, administration offices, Province archives, Provincial house and student accommodation. Many lay partners and ethnic groups make use of the facilities available for cultural events, Bible study and other multicultural celebrations.
