Society of the Divine Word - Societatis Verbi Divini (SVD) Divine Word Missionaries Our mission is to spread the Word of God and bring it to life “And the Word was made flesh…”. His Mission is Our Mission. May we achieve this by our lives, our words and our actions. DEDICATION This commemorative book is dedicated to the many benefactors, friends, and lay mission partners of the SVDs. We would like to share glimpses of our history with you as you have played a significant role in our ministry as religious missionaries. Without your love, sacrifice, dedication and commitment we could not have put into practice Christian love in the following of Jesus Christ. Although we cannot include all of our history, we have highlighted the ministries and apostolates in which we have been involved in the last 100 years. We hope you enjoy reading this booklet as it gives colour and form to experiences that may seem foreign and far away. We sincerely thank all those wonderful people we have had the privilege to cross paths with. May the Triune God bless you all!
