Let us heed the call to action embedded in the Easter message - reflection

Fr Budi Kleden SVD Easter Message 2024 550Dear Confreres, Sisters, Lay Mission Partners, Friends, Benefactors, and Relatives,

As we celebrate the joyous occasion of Easter, I extend my heartfelt greetings to each one of you.

The Resurrection of the Lord is the cornerstone of our faith and resonates with the profound message of God's boundless love and the promise of new life.

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it is easy to lose sight of the essence of Easter.

Yet, amidst the noise and distractions, let us pause to reflect on the fundamental truth it unveils: that during life's trials and tribulations, there exists a pathway to renewal and transformation.

Easter serves as a powerful reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is light.

Through the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are bestowed with the gift of redemption, the promise of eternal life, and the assurance that no obstacle is insurmountable.

However, let us not be mere bystanders in this significant event. Instead, let us heed the call to action embedded within the Easter message. Let us embrace our role as mediators of change, catalysts for hope, and instruments of God's love in the world.

In the spirit of the forthcoming General Chapter, which emphasises the importance of acknowledging and embracing our wounds, let us commit ourselves to the work of healing – both individually and collectively.

Easter inspires and gives us the courage and humility to accept our own fragility, and to acknowledge the wounds we have caused in others.

And in the Spirit of the Risen Lord, we are sent, as wounded healers, to help heal our world.

Let us reach out to those who are marginalised, oppressed, and suffering, offering them solace, support, and solidarity.

Furthermore, let us harness our collective creativity and resourcefulness to find innovative ways to spread the message of Easter – a message of life, of hope, reconciliation, and renewal.

Whether through acts of kindness, charitable endeavours, or community outreach initiatives, let us strive to be beacons of light in a world often shrouded in darkness.

As we embark on this journey of faith and service, may the spirit of Easter inspire and guide us, filling our hearts with joy, our minds with wisdom, and our actions with compassion.

Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed and joyous Easter filled with love, peace, and abundant blessings.
